Kamala Harris leads Trump in poll ahead of Democratic Convention tonight

New York: US Vice President Kamala Harris has achieved a narrow lead over former President Donald Trump in a survey.
The Washington Post-ABC News-Ipsos poll showed Harris having a four-point lead, which according to reports is ‘small but notable improvement’, according to NDTV.
The morale booster for democrats comes ahead of their national convention beginning tonight.
The convention will see Harris officially accepting her nomination as the Democratic presidential nominee.
The survey showed Harris at 49 percent, while Trump is not far behind at 45 percent.
If third-party candidates are included, Harris will be at 47 percent with Trump hovering at 44 percent alongside Robert F Kennedy Jr at 5 percent.
In July when Trump and Biden locked horns, Trump had the lead with 43 percent while Biden was at 42 percent and Kennedy far behind at 9 percent.
Harris’s edge in the polls indicates a tight presidential polls in November. However, seven swing states Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada are key to both presidential candidates’ prospects.
Meanwhile, it is reported citing other public polls that Harris has made a strong hold on all swing states after Biden left the race.
Joe Biden left the race after his disastrous performance in the first presidential debate against Trump.
The President’s weak performance forced several Democratic leaders and donors to call for him to step down from the election race.
Biden finally gave in to pressure on July 21, endorsing his deputy Harris for the Democratic nomination.
Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton are among the key speaks to endorse Harris at the convention, according to the report.
