Helped Imran Khan to become PM, ‘ regretted it’: Former Pak cricket captain
text_fieldsIslamabad: Former captain of Pakistan's cricket team Javed Miandad expressed regret over having helped Imran Khan become the prime minister.
During an interview with ARY News, Miandad attacked PTI Chairman Khan saying that the leader never thanked him.
Imran Khan came to power in 2018 riding on the wave of fandom from his cricketing days.
His ascension to the top job gave rise to hopes of great changes in the nation.
However Khan administration continued just over 3 years before in April 2022, a no-confidence motion removed him from the post.
In answer to questions over cricket, Javed Miandad marveled at his father’s love for cricket, adding that he and all his brothers played cricket in the street ‘ as well on the roof’.
Javed Miandad said during his stint at the national team none of the players objected to his captaincy, as he ‘ tried to keep margin to a minimum if the team lost’.
