A young man has shot dead four people for barring him from playing the addictive videogame PUBG in Nawakot, near Lahore in Pakistan, Pakistan's ARY News reported. He allegedly relived the scenes from inside the game and shot his brother, sister, brother-in-law, and friend. His mother, also shot during the fight with family over the videogame, is being treated in a hospital. Her condition is reportedly serious. Locals who reached hearing the gunshot captured Bilal and handed him over to the police.

The visuals captured on CCTV show Bilal shooting at his family, wearing jackets and helmets like the playable characters from the game. Some reports also suggest he was a drug addict. The police said that Bilal had been divorced only a few days earlier. He has pleaded guilty to four of the murders.

PUBG was banned in 2020 in Pakistan. However, the ban was lifted after protests on social media.
