Live telecast Chandrayaan-3 mission: Ex-Pakistan minister tells his country’s media
text_fieldsIslamabad: A former Pakistan minister showered congratulations on India’s nearing Chandrayaan-3 landing, scheduled to take place evening today.
Fawad Chaudhry, former Minister of Information and Broadcasting, asked Pakistan media to live telecast the celestial event, NDTV reported.
Chaudhry called India’s pioneering attempt to land on lunar South Pole a ‘historic moment for humankind’.
‘Pak media should show the #Chandrayan moon landing live tomorrow at 6:15 PM...historic moment for Human kind specially for the people, scientists and Space community of India.... Many Congratulations,’ Fawad Chaudhry posted on X on Tuesday.
In India scientific community, space enthusiasts and general populace are now walking on pins and needles as the scheduled landing is getting near.
However, ISRO sources remain finger-crossed on the success of Chandrayaan-3 soft landing on the moon.
This is despite the failure of Russia’s much advanced Luna-25 mission which on Saturday crashed on the lunar surface.
Russia's failure ratcheted up suspense on Chandrayaan-3 landing, given the odds of things going wrong.
Luna-25 was fast heading towards the moon aiming to soft land ahead of Chandrayaan-3 when an unknown glitch spoiled Russia’s grand project in nearly fifty years.
Scientists linked to ISRO told media that India’s mission will certainly make it to the South Pole of the moon, giving away that Chandrayaan-3 is equipped to pull off it.
As scientists predict ’20 minutes of terror’ referring to soft landing, prayers are being offered across the nation.
The landing due at 6.04 pm will be telecast live across the country with schools remaining open through the event.
Space enthusiasts will throw parties for the historic moment, according to NDTV.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join online from South Africa, where he is attending the BRICS summit.
