Gaza: According to security sources, Israeli fighter jets attacked multiple military sites and facilities belonging to the armed wing of the Islamic Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip on Monday, although no injuries were reported.

The fighter jets fired air-to-ground missiles against five separate military sites and infrastructure in the northern, central, and southern Gaza Strips for the third day in a row in retaliation to rockets fired towards Israel, reports Xinhua news agency.

Since the night of September 10, unknown militants have begun shooting rockets from Gaza into Israel. Three rockets were fired at Israel, the most recent on Sunday night, lightly injuring three people.

No one has claimed credit for the three missiles fired at Israel in the last three days. However, an Israeli army spokesman said in a statement that Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, "is fully responsible for the rocket attacks".

Hamas-run al-Aqsa television said that local residents heard the buzz of Israeli army drones and fighter jets, and then several explosions were heard all over the Gaza Strip after striking military posts belonging to the movement.

On Saturday and Sunday, Israeli fighter jets attacked military posts and facilities that belonged to Hamas in the northern and central Gaza Strip according to the sources, which added that no injuries or damage were reported.

Israeli fighter jets hit sites used for manufacturing homemade rockets as well as weapons depots in the Gaza Strip, according to two different statements issued by an Israeli army spokesman on Saturday and Sunday.

According to the spokesperson, Hamas, which has ruled the Gaza Strip since 2007, is responsible for any attack on Israeli citizens, and Israel would respond swiftly.
