Karachi: Adiala jail authorities have dismissed rumours that former Pakistan prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has been moved out of the prison or is in poor health, insisting he remains in “good health”.

Officials said reports claiming he had been shifted from Adiala jail were incorrect and that he continues to be lodged there. They added that all necessary medical care is being provided within the facility and described the social media speculation surrounding an alleged prison transfer as baseless.

Rumours circulating on Pakistani social media had even claimed that Imran Khan had died in custody, prompting his sisters and PTI workers to gather outside the prison seeking permission to meet him. The jail administration issued its clarification shortly afterwards.

Imran Khan was imprisoned in August 2023 after being charged with corruption and other offences.
