US President Donald Trump’s handshakes with world leaders have always become the talk of the town. Netizens keep monitoring the social handles to see how Trump meets and greets dignitaries.

Trump had hit the headlines when he refused to shake hands with German Chancellor Angela Merkel during her visit to the White House. His handshake with Japenese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had become an inspiration for a series of memes.

The US president had another of those awkward handshake moments in Poland Thursday. As is typical when Trump meets other male authority figures he apparently wants to dominate, he grabbed the hand of President Andrzej Duda and vigorously shook it.

He then turned to take the hand of the president’s wife. But Kornhauser-Duda showed no interest in conversing with him. She immediately moved to greet Melania Trump and shake her hand, leaving Trump looking momentarily flummoxed.

But then Kornauser-Duda finally moved to shake Trump’s hand, and all was right in the world — for the moment that is.

The Polish President has, however, rejected reports of his wife 'snubbing' Trump. It is said that Kornhauser-Duda did not notice Trump proffering his hands towards her and so she turned to Melania for a handshake.
