Tiger killing man in Kerala: govt issues kill order

Wayanad: The Kerala government has issued a kill order against a tiger after a man was found half eaten by the animal in the Wayanad district of Kerala. The dead remains of the person, 36-year-old Prajeesh, were found on Saturday.

However, the government order specified that the officials must make sure that their target animal must be confirmed as the man-eater before initiating the kill.

"If the animal cannot be captured or tranquilised, and it is established as a man-eater, then it should be killed, as it has become dangerous to human life in the region," the Sunday order read.

The forest department has taken an effort to install 11 cameras at various spots to locate the tiger.

The locals are deeply affected by the attack on Prajeesh. They initiated a clamour at the spot where dead remains were found and tried to stop police from removing the body.

In January, a 52-year-old farmer died of a tiger attack in the same district.
