New Delhi: Google informed about it finding a glitch in its web browser Google Chrome and asked users of operating systems Windows, macOS, and Linux to update the Chrome version to 99.0.4844.84, IANS reported.

The company added that the vulnerability in the last version is being utilized in the wild, which Google is aware of.

In a statement, Google said, "We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third-party library that other projects similarly depend on but haven't yet fixed."

The update can be done easily by going to the three dots on the top-right corner of Chrome and going to Help > About Google Chrome, and starting the update.

The company said, "We would also like to thank all security researchers that worked with us during the development cycle to prevent security bugs from ever reaching the stable channel."

Microsoft also notified a similar issue regarding its web browser Edge and said that problem had been fixed in its latest version, 99.0.1150.55.

Google had cleared up 37 fixes in its new year update, its first big security update. It was rolled out in the operating systems of Windows, Mac and Linux. One among 37 issues was rated critical.

Google stated that 22 types of security fixes were added in the latest version, which would ensure the users' privacy. The recently updated Chrome stable channel 96.0.4664.93 for Windows, Mac and Linux is available for all users, IANS reports.
