New Delhi: Holidaying for most employees in corporate sector is an extension of their work place.

They will keep getting work emails and call and will be asked to attend a video conference while going for a pool party.

Now an Indian company decided to stop employees contacting their colleagues on holiday with office tasks, according to India Today.

Fantasy sports company Dream11 issued a directive saying that employees who disturb their colleagues on their holidays will have to pay heavy fine.

What is called Dream 11 Unplug policy is aimed at allowing employees enjoy their quality time with family and friends without having to worry about office emails, messages and work calls.

The new policy allows the employees to remain completely cut off work through their holiday stint with no work messages, calls, and directives.

A post on the company’s Linkedin account said: "At Dream11, we actually log off the 'Dreamster' who is unplugged, off from every possible Stadium communication platform, be it slack, emails and even WhatsApp groups. We do this to ensure absolutely no one from the Dreamster’s work ecosystem can contact them while they are on their well-deserved break".

The company also said that spending quality time with loved ones or relaxing can immensely improve overall mood and quality life and productivity.

The founders of the company Harsh Jain and Bhavit Seth said that employees reaching out to their colleagues on holiday will have to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh, CNBC reported.

The policy offers every employee irrespective of their designation the ‘unplug time’, which is also to ensure that the company is not reliant on any employee.
