Day 3 of Kerala sports meet: Palakkad leads with 179 points
text_fieldsKunnamkulam: At the State School Sports and Games Meet, which was taking place at Kunnamkulam on Thursday, the penultimate day, Palakkad district was getting closer to taking first place as it was leading the standings with 179 points. Palakkad has gotten eighteen gold, twenty-one silver, and nine bronze.
With 11 gold, 17 silver, and 14 bronze, Malappuram finished second with 131 points. With eleven gold, three silver, and five bronze, Ernakulam finished third with 69 points. With a time of 13 minutes and 84 seconds, Kiran K of VMHS, Vadavannur, set a state record in the junior boys 110-meter heats. A state record in the 1.5 kg discus throw for senior boys was also set by Servan K C of GHSS, Kuttamath, the New Indian Express reported.
Ideal EHSS, Kadakassery, led the standings among the schools with 43 points. Mar Basil HSS, Kothamangalam, came in second with 38 points, and KHS Kumaramputhur, with 29 points, followed. Nineteen events on Friday, the last day, will determine which district takes first place and which school tops the table.
