When I left captaincy, there was no calls or message: Gavaskar tells Kohli

Former Indian cricket team captain Sunil Gavaskar told Virat Kohli that once captaincy is over it is time to focus on game.
Gavaskar was reacting to Kohli's complaint that nobody except MS Dhoni messaged him after he quit Test Captaincy last year.
Focus in the game rather than think and worry about teammates when he is no longer a captain, India Today reported as Gavaskar responding to the channel.
In the press meet after a stunning show of form scoring 60 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 on Sunday, Kohli went very emotional.
Kohli opened up that no fellow players except MS Dhoni text messaged him when he quit Test Captaincy last year.
Sunil Gavaskar told a discussion on India today that Kohli should have named the 'other persons' who did not get in touch him at the time.
Talking to Sports Tak, Gavaskar asked what message Kohli wanted, adding: "Encouragement?
Gavaskar asked since Kohli was done with captaincy why he needed any more encouragement. "That chapter already closed," he was quoted as saying.
The former Indian captain also mentioned that when he quit as captain in 1985 after winning the Benson & Hedges World Championship of Cricket in Australia, he received no special messages or calls.
"That night we celebrated, hugged each other but beyond that what else do you expect?" he said.
