Rain may have halted play in the Super Four clash of the Asia Cup between India and Pakistan, but legendary former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram added a humorous twist to the build-up as he revealed his recent chat with Indian batting sensation Virat Kohli.

Akram, a prominent cricket figure, confessed that he jokingly told Kohli, "You come in my dreams now," to which Kohli responded with curiosity, asking, "What do you mean, Wasim bhai?"

Explaining further, Akram shared, "I told him because I see so much of you on the television screen. I just can't get you out of my mind."

Kohli's immense popularity and stature in the cricket world make him a central figure before any major match, especially in high-stakes encounters like India vs. Pakistan.

Akram highlighted the significance of these matches for players like Virat Kohli and Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, emphasising that they thrive on such high-pressure occasions.

"Virat, Babar, Shaheen, and all these match-winners, they play this game for these moments - India vs. Pakistan. I mean, for Pakistan, everybody wants to perform, and vice-versa. This is just make or break. Not for guys like Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, but for young guys. These games are fun," Akram remarked.

India's innings against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four clash was disrupted by rain. The Indian opening pair, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, put on an impressive display before the weather intervened. They had reached a score of 147 for the loss of 2 wickets when the match was temporarily halted due to heavy showers.

Rohit Sharma contributed 56 runs, while Shubman Gill added 58 runs to the partnership before getting dismissed. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul took over but were undefeated at the crease when the rain forced the teams back to the dressing rooms.
