Australian Cricketer and legendary leg-spinner Shane Warne dies died at the of 56.

In the early morning hours of Saturday (AEDT), Warne's management announced that he passed away in Koh Samui, Thailand, following a suspected heart attack.

Despite best efforts by medical staff, Shane was not revived after he was found unresponsive in his villa, according to the statement.

"The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course."

The news is the second devastating blow for Australian cricket within 24 hours with fellow great, Rod Marsh, also dying on Friday having suffered a major heart attack last week.

Warne is known as 'Warnie' to millions of people across the globe and many consider him to be one of the greatest bowlers to ever play the game.

He enjoyed a 15-year international career spanning 708 test wickets, the most of any Australian and second to none behind only Muttiah Muralitharan.
