The second one-day international between Bangladesh and Afghanistan in Chittagong ended in an 88-run win for Bangladesh thanks to Liton Das' century and a 202-run partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim. At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Liton scored 136 off 126 balls to guide the hosts to 306-4, then the visitors were bowled out for 218 to take a 2-0 lead in the series. In 45.1 overs, the bowlers Taskin Ahmed (2-31) and Shakib Al Hasan (2-38) combined with other bowlers to conclude the Afghanistan innings. Mushfiqur hit 86 off 93 balls for his contribution.

With three wickets down early, Afghanistan was at 34-3 when Najibullah Zadran (54) and Rahmat Shah (52) combined for 89 runs to lift them. By dismissing Shah and then Zadran, Taskin ended partnership.

After opting to bat, Bangladesh had been struggling when left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi caught Tamim Iqbal leg-before for 12 and fielder Rashid Khan removed Shakib (20) on his second ball.

Mushfiqur and Liton stabilised the score building the crucial partnership.

After hitting 16 fours and two sixes in his innings, Liton brought up his fifth ODI century.

The third and final match of the series will be held on Monday at the same ground.
