New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday singed a file related to farmers' welfare scheme 'PM Kisan Nidhi' as his first after opening the third consecutive term, NDTV reported.

The first meeting of the cabinet is like to be held this evening at the Prime Minister's residence at Lok Kalyan Marg.

The meeting may well formally request President Droupadi Murmu to summon a session of Parliament.

The President will address both houses detailing the government’s priorities and vision for the current term.

The swearing-in ceremony held last evening at Rashtrapati Bhavan saw President Murmu administering the oath of office to PM Modi and his cabinet.

The new cabinet is made up of some of the important personalities from the previous cabinet including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S Jaishankar.

The Council of Ministers include 30 Cabinet Ministers, five Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State.

Following swearing-in ceremony, PM Modi posted on platform X: "This team of ministers is a great blend of youth and experience; we will leave no stone unturned in improving people's lives. I look forward to serving 140 crore Indians and working with the Council of Ministers to take India to new heights of progress."

The new government has given four cabinet berths to Bihar and nine to Uttar Pradesh alongside.

While there is no Muslim representation in the cabinet, forty-two ministers are from the Other Backward Class (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, according to the report.
