RSS chief's ‘real Independence Day'
text_fieldsRSS chief Mohan Bhagwat claimed, while speaking at an award ceremony in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore, that India after having faced attacks over several centuries got real freedom on January 22, 2024, when the idol of Ram was installed in Ayodhya. He was unequivocally expanding on the concept of nationalism of his organization, which is getting ready to celebrate the centenary of its formation. He alleged that the country nonetheless achieved political independence on August 15, 1947, its Constitution, written with a specific vision, did not reflect the identity of India. The freedom that sums up our tradition, beginning with Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva and continuing over 5000 years, received with the installation of the Ram Temple. To those who argue for the livelihood of the people, Bhagwat asks where the country has reached nevertheless raising for long the slogan 'Garibi Hathao' and ideologies like socialism. The Sangh chief also raises the fact that India could not reach achievements of countries like Israel and Japan that started journey along with India. In short, the solution to everything and true freedom according to him is the Ram Rajya achieved through the construction of the Ram Temple. With the conclusion of the 45-day Maha Kumbh Mela, currently happening in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj after the gap of 12 years, we will see the great miracle of India becoming a developed and prosperous nation on par with Israel and Japan. Because, it is said that 40 crore monks and devotees will participate in the Mahakumbh Mela that the Centre and the UP state are working hard to make a historic event by spending thousands of crores. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav revealed that the Indian Railways has spent Rs 5000 crore to set up basic infrastructure to ferry large crowds to the 10,000-acre Kumbh Mela venu. The decision for the Ram Temple and the Kumbh Mela to make the entire country a welfare state can only dubbed as ‘ tremendous’ nevertheless the Centre has not yet granted lakhs or crores for the victims of the Wayanad landslide, which the government itself termed very serious disaster. Even the children of this country know that the material progress of Israel and Japan, which Mohan Bhagwat pointed out as an example, stems from their enviable progress in science and technology. The speech Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru gave while inaugurating Bhakra Nangal –Hydropower Project proves that the first Prime wanted to lead India on that path after independence. He pointed out that such projects could be the pilgrimage center of the future India. He had a vision that such large-scale projects can only be implemented in the public sector, which is why he declared socialism as the goal of the country. But unfortunately, his descendants who fought with each other in the name of caste and religion, sacrificing the good of the country in pursuit of power, treating corruption as their birthright, surrendering the country to the capitalists, could not turn India into a developed country free from hunger and poverty even after 75 years. What about the RSS nominees who have been ruling with excessive power for more than a decade after promising a solution to the degradation?
Can Narendra Modi and his fellow Hindutva extremists, who demolished the Babri Masjid and built a Ram temple worth 1800 crores in its place, alleviate the hunger of crores of poor people apart from constantly persecuting the religious minorities of the country and instilling a sense of insecurity in them? What have they achieved except belittling the scientific and technological leaps of Israel and Japan but also instilling in the minds of the new generations by pointing to the fictional forms of mythological characters that we had invented all these things millennia ago? Isn't the mentality of those who speak for majority here stems from the Israel’s the extremely dangerous and destructive racial hysteria that they should not hesitate or be afraid to burn generations, including infants, through relentless bombardment? Mohan Bhagwat recalls his meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee when the issue of Gharvapasi was being discussed in Parliament. The former President had asked him 'The Indian Constitution is the most secular in the world; then what right do the countries of the world have to teach us secularism?' Remember BJP's Subramanian Swamy and Ashwini Kumar had approached the Supreme Court seeking to remove secularism and socialism from that Constitution. The Supreme Court rejected their demand for the time being. Let's wait and see what will happen in the truly independent Ram Rajya of future.
