Irom Sharmila becomes a mother to twin girls

Bangalore: The steely activist Irom Sharmila gave birth to twin girls at hospital in Bangalore. 

The twins Nix Shakshi an Autumn Tara were born a minute apart, sources say.  

Both Sharmila and the babies were doing fine, said their obstetrician-gynecologist Dr Sripada Vinekar.

The 46-year-old activist and her British husband, according to hospital authorities, want to keep the great moment very private
