Dubai: Ford Middle East has confirmed that Ford SUVs in the UAE are not impacted by the recent global recall concerning fuel injector issues. The recall, affecting approximately 43,000 compact SUVs worldwide, was announced by Ford due to concerns regarding petrol leakage from fuel injectors, posing a fire risk in the engine.

According to documents filed with US safety regulators, the recall specifically targets certain 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 Ford Escape SUVs equipped with 1.5-litre engines, totalling 42,652 vehicles.

Rasha Ghanem, communications director at Ford Middle East, said, "This recall is not happening in our region. We only have 83 vehicles impacted which are all in Tunisia."

Despite the recall, Ford Middle East reassures UAE customers that there are no changes to driving instructions and extended warranty coverage will be provided. The recall remedy involves installing a tube to redirect gasoline away from potential ignition sources and updating engine control software to detect fuel injection system pressure drops.

Ford expresses confidence in the effectiveness of the recall repairs, emphasizing their commitment to customer safety.
