Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) has mandated that social media influencers and advertisers must obtain a license before providing advertising services.

Starting July 1, violators will face penalties of up to Dh10,000, with continued non-compliance potentially leading to company closures.

Licenses are available through the Tamm platform on the ADDED website. Foreigners can also obtain a license if they have an Emirates ID card or a unified number.

Influencers are seeking further clarification on whether the rule applies only to content creators and companies operating in Abu Dhabi.
