Dubai: The Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai, in collaboration with Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, hosted the third edition of "Dubai Iftar" at Expo City Dubai last Sunday. The event, part of the vibrant #RamadanInDubai campaign, was a confluence of different faiths, where religious leaders and community members gathered to share a meal in the spirit of Ramadan.

The iftar brought together people from various religious backgrounds, including influential Muslim scholars, UAE officials and senior figures from numerous organizations. The gathering was enriched with the presence of consular and diplomatic representatives, emphasizing the event's wide-reaching significance.

Dubai Iftar, organized annually, is a celebration of the core values of generosity, sharing and peaceful coexistence. These values are deeply embedded in the UAE's societal fabric, promoting a culture of mutual respect and social harmony.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, the CDA’s Director General, highlighted that the event mirrors the tolerance, compassion and diverse cultural ethos of the UAE.

“Ramadan offers us the chance to renew our commitment to advancing our society's development, strengthening bonds within our community and enhancing the quality of life of all society members”, Buhumaid said.

Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, representing Dubai’s Islamic Affairs, echoed these sentiments, noting that the event reflects the Emirati culture’s embracement of diversity and coexistence.

The choice of Al Wasl Plaza as the venue speaks volumes, symbolizing a global crossroads of minds and civilizations. This location, especially during Ramadan, transforms into a hub of cultural exchange and communal solidarity.

As the event concluded, participants and observers alike reflected on its success in strengthening community bonds and enhancing Dubai's image as a multicultural hub. The iftar was a profound experience that celebrated the essence of Ramadan and the beauty of a united community.

The continued success of the Dubai Iftar event signals a future where cultural diversity and mutual respect remain the cornerstone of society.
