The "Towards a Safer Community" initiative, launched on September 1, 2024, by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, has made substantial progress in its first week.

Aimed at regularizing the status of residents and visitors with expired visas or overstays, the campaign is part of the broader Dubai Social Agenda 33.

In just one week, the initiative processed 19,784 applications, with a remarkable 98.96% completed within 48 hours, demonstrating the efficiency of the digital platforms and dedicated teams.

The main service centre in Al Aweer, Dubai, was a focal point, handling a significant portion of the traffic with dedicated resources to expedite the process.

The initiative also featured active collaboration with various foreign consulates, which helped in guiding residents through the regularization process. These consulates conducted awareness sessions and provided multilingual support, ensuring a broad reach and comprehension among Dubai's diverse expatriate community.

His Excellency Major General Salah Al-Qamzi, Assistant Director General of Dubai's Violators and Foreigners Tracking Sector, expressed satisfaction with the initiative's early results.

"We are proud of the results achieved by this campaign, which reflect our commitment to offering the best services for residents in Dubai and ensuring that everyone lives in a safe and stable environment," he said.

He also highlighted the initiative's collaboration with the private sector, government entities, and consulates, which has been instrumental in achieving swift results.

As the campaign progresses, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai continues its mission to support and assist all residents and visitors, reinforcing Dubai's position as a safe, inclusive and forward-thinking city.
