Dubai residents can expect more efficient transport options as Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has been awarded 300 new plates in the latest Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) auction. This addition increases DTC's fleet to almost 6,000 vehicles, expanding its market share to 46 percent, catering to the growing demand for sustainable and efficient transportation driven by the emirate's population and economic growth.

Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, emphasized the significance of this expansion. He said, "The award of 300 new plates is a key part of DTC's fleet expansion strategy. In 2024, our fleet has grown by approximately 10 percent, reaching nearly 9,000 vehicles across all our segments, including taxis, limousines, buses and motorcycles."

He further highlighted DTC's focus on sustainability, with 25 percent of the new plates allocated to electric taxis.

"This move is part of the company's strategy to transition towards innovative low carbon mobility solutions and support Dubai's net zero emissions target by 2050", said Al Falasi.

The expanded fleet is also expected to generate an additional Dh100 million in annual revenues, solidifying DTC’s leadership in Dubai's transport sector.

"Our investment in growth, innovation and customer-centric solutions underscores our position as the leading transport operator in Dubai," he added.
