Abu Dhabi introduces robot-led traffic safety campaign with driving simulator
cancel

Abu Dhabi Police has launched a digital traffic awareness campaign using robots and virtual reality to educate the public about traffic laws and enhance road safety. The initiative aims to promote adherence to traffic regulations among drivers, families, students and other road users.

One of the key features of the campaign is the deployment of robots on the streets, which will interact with the public to raise awareness about traffic safety. Additionally, the police have installed a virtual reality driving simulator, allowing residents to engage in a realistic driving experience, simulating the mechanics of braking, steering and more. The simulator also includes digital awareness videos displayed on a rear-view screen using CGI technology.

As the school year progresses, the digital traffic patrol will conduct home visits to educate private drivers, domestic workers, parents, and community members on how to properly handle children inside vehicles and on the road. These efforts aim to ensure children’s safety during transit.

The campaign also includes lectures, gift distributions, and brochures to further spread traffic safety messages. Major Ahmed Abdullah Al-Mhairi, Director of the Digital Traffic Awareness Project, emphasized that this initiative is in line with Abu Dhabi's proactive approach to future-oriented services, supporting governmental safety goals.
