The United States and Saudi Arabia have signed a series of major agreements aimed at expanding their strategic partnership, boosting American jobs, and strengthening supply chains.

The announcement was made on Tuesday after President Donald Trump and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman formalised the deals.

The White House said the new agreements build on Trump’s earlier visit to Riyadh in May, when Saudi Arabia committed $600 billion in US investments. The Kingdom will now increase its planned investments to nearly $1 trillion.

The statement said the deals also aim to promote regional stability.

The White House said that key achievements included the Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement, progress in critical minerals collaboration, and an AI Memorandum of Understanding, adding that these developments underscored the United States’ commitment to securing deals that would directly benefit the American people.

One of the major developments was the joint declaration on civil nuclear cooperation. Both countries signed the agreement to support a long-term partnership that prioritises American companies.

The White House statement also noted that the agreement required strict non-proliferation standards for all nuclear projects. It said that the United States and Saudi Arabia had signed a Joint Declaration on the Completion of Negotiations on Civil Nuclear Energy Cooperation, establishing the legal foundation for a decades-long, multibillion-dollar nuclear energy partnership with the Kingdom.

The United States and Saudi Arabia also signed a Critical Minerals Framework. The US hopes this will help diversify its critical mineral supply chains.

A separate agreement – the ‘AI Memorandum of Understanding’ – was signed to expand Saudi Arabia’s access to leading US systems while ensuring American technology remains protected.

The White House said that both nations had also signed the US–Saudi Strategic Defense Agreement, which it said would strengthen their 80-year partnership. It added that the SDA was a win for the America First agenda, as it would make it easier for US defence firms to operate in Saudi Arabia and secure new burden-sharing funds from the Kingdom to offset US costs.

As part of the wider deal, President Trump has approved a major defence sale involving future F-35 deliveries. Saudi Arabia has also agreed to purchase nearly 300 US tanks, increasing its defence capabilities.

According to the White House, the nearly $1 trillion in Saudi commitments will support US infrastructure, technology, and industry.
