Saudi: Traditional arts institution, King Fahd Library sign MoU

Riyadh: Aiming the enrichment of traditional arts, Saudi Arabia Royal Institute of Traditional Arts signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the King Fahd National Library, Arab News reported.

The MoU was signed by the director-general of the institute, Suzan Al-Yahya and the acting secretary-general of the library Mansour Al-Zamil.

The institute of traditional arts is an initiative of the Quality of Life Program. The Saudi Ministry of Culture is expecting to hone national skills and local culture, and for that, advanced educational programmes will be initiated by the institute.

Further, the signed MoU intends to save the national intellectual output as it will back the institute's academic programmes as well as implement many collaborated projects in development and communication.

Institute director Al-Yahya said that the MoU started strategic cooperation between the signatories. It also inked initiatives, events, joint programmes, the organization of art exhibitions and the provision of resources, supporting the educational programmes on traditional arts.

Meanwhile, Al-Zamil stated the need for inked cooperation in cultivating local talent in the traditional arts field as well as organizing national initiatives through collaboration with cultural institutions.
