San Marino: Saudi Arabia and San Marino reached an agreement to increase cooperation in tourism. The development happened when Saudian Tourism Minister Ahmed bin Ageel Al-Khateeb visited the oldest republic in the world, Arab News reported.

The Saudi minister had met with San Marino's Foreign Secretary Luca Beccari as well as Tourism Secretary Federico Pedini Amati.

Experts from San Marino and Saudi Arabia will work together to develop the tourism sector, which is essential for the growth of the economy. According to Pedini Amati, the two countries will evaluate the challenges as well as opportunities for collaboration, exchange and mutual investments. This will include joint ventures with UN World Tourism Organization.

The Kingdom has recently introduced its Digital Tourism Strategy, and Riyadh will be hosting the World Expo 2030.

Pedini Amati has scheduled an official visit to Riyadh in June after he was invited by Al-Khateeb. Amati the, Khateed had said that learning from Amati was an honour, and they would work together, building better tourism. He added that the Kingdom would learn from San Marino as well.

San Marino is located northeast of Italy and adjacent to Rimini, a renowned beach. The country has been independent for 1,720 years and hosts a population of nearly 34,000. It has been a well-known tourist destination because of its monuments as well as landscape.
