Saudi Arabia has retained its position as the top country in global cybersecurity, according to the 2024 World Competitiveness Yearbook by the International Institute for Management Development.

Officials credited King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their support in advancing the country’s cybersecurity efforts. They said the Kingdom’s digital transformation strategy played a key role in achieving this global rank.

They also highlighted that the country’s cybersecurity success is the result of a long-term national strategy that balances security, economy and technology.

The UN’s International Telecommunication Union also named Saudi Arabia a Tier 1 “role-modeling” nation in its Global Cybersecurity Index 2024.

The National Cybersecurity Authority leads the country’s cybersecurity mission. It works with the Saudi Information Technology Company to develop national defences and localise advanced technologies.

Together, these agencies promote international and local collaboration, protect vital sectors and improve the Kingdom’s digital resilience.

The NCA creates national cybersecurity policies and standards. It also promotes innovation and investment across the cybersecurity sector.

These actions are part of Saudi Arabia’s plan to build a secure digital ecosystem that supports growth and global partnerships.
