Saudi Arabia's Musaned platform praised by ILO
text_fieldsThe Saudi Labor Ministry's website for recruitment services, Musaned, has succeeded in bringing Saudi Arabia first in protecting the rights of domestic workers and improving their services, shows a recent report by the International Labor Organization (ILO).
ILO praised Musaned for its features in their report on ethical and fair work practices, stated the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia.
Musaned, under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD), is a cohesive system for the recruitment procedures of foreign domestic workers in the Kingdom and has contributed to protecting labour rights. It clearly states the need for awareness of every individual's role in the recruitment process and to know what their responsibilities, rights and duties are.
The platform enables issuing visas, making and regulating labour contracts and a transparent payment system to ensure a decent life for both employees and employers.
Musaned has improved the quality of services, bettering the recruitment system and has also reduced the cost of recruitment in the market.
Last year, Saudi Arabia's HRSD, as part of its Labour Reform Initiative (LRI), had amended the sponsorship (Kafala) system to improve transparency and relieve foreign workers' contractual restrictions, which is expected to come into effect in March 2021.
