Minister of Health and Chairman of the Health Holding Company Fahad AlJalajel on Monday launched the world’s first diabetes command-and-control center, designed to enable proactive and electronic tracking of health indicators for diabetic patients.

The announcement came on the opening day of the eighth Global Health Exhibition at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham.

According to the Health Holding Company, the center allows digital monitoring of patients’ vital signs across the Kingdom, supporting continuous follow-up and providing timely medical support to improve disease management.

The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader push toward preventive healthcare and a higher quality of life. It reflects the Saudi Model of Care, which emphasizes prevention before treatment and focuses on patient-centered services.

Officials said the new system also advances the healthcare sector’s digital transformation by improving access to services and enabling direct communication between doctors and patients. The center aims to reduce complications from chronic diseases and strengthen the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery.
