Saudi Arabia launches Iftar program in India, neighbouring countries

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, through its Religious Attaché in India, has initiated a large-scale Iftar program across multiple Indian cities during the holy month of Ramzan. The initiative also extends to Nepal, the Maldives and Sri Lanka, reinforcing the Kingdom’s humanitarian outreach in the region.
According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the program is expected to benefit over 50,000 people in India and nearly 100,000 across all four participating nations. Designed to promote unity and offer essential support during the sacred month, the initiative showcases Saudi Arabia’s commitment to charitable efforts.
The Iftar programme, established by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, includes group Iftar gatherings coordinated in collaboration with Saudi embassies, accredited charitable organizations, and influential Islamic figures. This structured approach ensures that assistance reaches those most in need.
Recipients of the program have expressed their gratitude, extending prayers for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their generosity and support during Ramzan.
