Saudi Arabia joins first executive committee meeting of IAACA

Saudi Arabia reiterated its support for global anti-corruption efforts during the first executive committee meeting of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), held virtually on Thursday.
Representing the Kingdom, the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) participated in the session, with its president, Mazin bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, praising IAACA’s leadership and its efforts to foster international cooperation in combating corruption.
Al-Kahmous emphasized Saudi Arabia’s active role in advancing global integrity standards and strengthening anti-corruption partnerships. He highlighted the Kingdom’s ongoing collaboration with international bodies and reiterated support for IAACA’s mission to promote transparency and knowledge exchange.
As part of its proposals, Al-Kahmous suggested launching regular general meetings, either in Hong Kong or alongside the Conference of the States Parties to the UN Convention against Corruption. He also advocated for joint workshops and capacity-building initiatives in cooperation with the GlobE Network.
In addition, Al-Kahmous invited IAACA members to the High-Level Conference on Measuring Corruption, set to take place in New York from December 2–4, 2025. The event builds on the Global Initiative on Measuring Corruption introduced by Nazaha in 2021, in collaboration with major international organizations, including the UNDP, UNODC, OECD and the International Anti-Corruption Academy.
The IAACA, comprising over 180 anti-corruption authorities globally, plays a vital role in supporting the implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption and advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the eradication of bribery and corruption by 2030.
