Saudi Arabia has announced the imposition of final anti-dumping duties on imports of stainless steel pipes from China and Taiwan, effective for five years starting June 30, 2025.

The decision, issued by Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT), targets longitudinally welded circular cross-section pipes made of stainless steel. It was officially published in the Umm Al-Qura newspaper on June 29.

The anti-dumping duties will range between 6.5% and 27.3%, depending on the exporting party, as outlined in a detailed table accompanying the decision. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority has been instructed to enforce and collect the duties accordingly.

The move follows the conclusion of a trade remedies investigation launched on May 2, 2024, after a complaint was filed by the local industry. The investigation was conducted under the Law of Trade Remedies in International Trade, which aims to shield domestic producers from unfair trade practices such as dumping and subsidies.

Authorities said the decision aligns with the Kingdom’s efforts to ensure fair competition, curb the adverse effects of surging imports, and support the sustainability of local manufacturing sectors.
