King Salman has directed that a major road in Madinah be named “Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Road", the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.

The 13-kilometer road stretches from the Prophet’s Mosque to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Road, linking directly to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport and the Royal Terminal. It serves as a vital route for Umrah and Hajj pilgrims, as well as visitors traveling between the holy mosque and Madinah airport.

The governor of Madinah, Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, highlighted the Crown Prince’s pivotal role in spearheading development initiatives and strategic projects across the Kingdom, which have significantly benefited Madinah and other regions.

According to SPA, the newly named road will connect with three of Madinah’s main highways, King Faisal Road (1st Ring), King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Road (2nd Ring) and King Khalid Road (3rd Ring).

Several infrastructure projects are also under way along the route, including the construction of vehicle and pedestrian tracks and the rehabilitation of Wadi Qanat, an important valley in the city.
