Jubail Toastmasters conclude Youth Leadership Program
text_fieldsThe Jubail Toastmasters Club has concluded its Youth Leadership Program for the year with a grand finale held on December 12, 2025, at the Dunes International School Auditorium in Jubail. The club has been active in the city for 22 years and runs the program under the framework of Toastmasters International, which operates in 152 countries.
The eight-week program was offered free of charge to teenagers aged 13 to 18 and focused on developing public speaking and leadership skills. The 2025 edition was coordinated by Chief Coordinator Chowdhury Nurul Islam, supported by team members Aishwarya, Saud Al-Subaie, Subhashish Mishra and Jasib Hussain. Strategic oversight was provided by Chief Advisor Imteyaz Khan, along with advisors A.K. Das, Sadagopan Natarajan, Jamil Akhtar and Kunkun Das.
The closing ceremony was attended by several guests, including Abdul Majeed Bathuruddin, chief guest for the evening, who is a five-time world record holder and chief executive officer of Universal Inspection Company. He addressed participants during the event. The chief executive officer of RAS Ambitions attended as guest of honour and presented a laptop to the overall winner. Senior Toastmaster Faisal Al-Zahrani delivered the keynote address.
The grand finale included three competitions, the International Speech Contest, the Table Topics Contest and the Debate Contest. The contests were supervised by Chief Judge Sadagopan Natarajan and a panel of judges, while Tanishka Shaileshkumar served as master of ceremonies.
The International Speech Contest was chaired by Zainab Rehan and featured eight participants. A. Sahana secured first place, followed by Zainab Nasir in second place and Azlan Khan in third.
The Table Topics Contest, chaired by Nausheen Naushad, required participants to respond to the topic, 'Which one rule you wish to change at your school'. Mariyam Khan placed first, Faiza Ansari came second and Zainab Rehan placed third.
The Debate Contest focused on the topic 'AI is a blessing or a curse for society' and was moderated by Imteyaz Khan. The team arguing in favor of the motion included Abdullah Asif Hussain, Fouad Shihab Ibrahim, Ahsan Abdul Aziz and team leader Johana Elsa Saiju, under the mentorship of Sudeep Singh Chandel. The team arguing against the motion consisted of Nausheen Naushad, Varun Shivaprakasam, Mohammed Ibrahim Ali Khan and team leader Zia Ghazal, mentored by Vijay Kumar. The team opposing the motion was declared the Best Team. Johana Elsa Saiju received the Best Speaker award from the “For” team, while Mohammed Ibrahim Ali Khan received the Best Speaker award from the “Against” team.
The event was attended by senior Toastmasters officials including District 79 Program Quality Director Alex Phillip, Club Growth Director Narasimharao Rampalli, Logistics Manager Azhar Farooq and SATAC 2026 Chairman Satish Kumar.
The program concluded with a dinner and the presentation of gifts by Abdul Majeed Bathuruddin, marking the completion of this year’s Youth Leadership Program organised by the Jubail Toastmasters Club.
