Gaza, Lebanon: In the last 24 hours, Israel strikes killed at least 24 people and injured 112 in Gaza. Meanwhile, the Netanyahu forces also killed four Lebanese paramedics and two others in Lebanon’s Nabatieh area and 12 rescue workers near Baalbek city during an attack on a civil defence centre, AL Jazeera reported.

According to Al Jazeera, the Palestinian American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib demanded US Secretary of State Antony Blinken resign after his deadline for Israeli authorities to ramp up humanitarian aid to Gaza passed unfulfilled and without any consequences for Israel.

So far, Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 43,736 Palestinians and injured 1,03,370 others since the war broke out on October 7, 2023. Meanwhile, around 1,139 people were killed in a Hamas lightning strike in Israel on the day which triggered the war. Hamas had taken more than 200 Israelis captives.

Meanwhile, Israel’s attacks on Lebanon have killed at least 3,386 people so far and wounded 14,417 others since the war broke out in Gaza.

In another news, a United Nations special committee has expressed grave concerns regarding Israeli policies and actions in Gaza, asserting that they align with characteristics typically associated with genocide.

In its annual report, the committee, which was initially formed in 1968 to monitor Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, outlined several allegations, including the use of starvation as a weapon of war and the implementation of an apartheid system within the West Bank, encompassing East Jerusalem.

The report comes as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) undertakes an investigation into a claim by South Africa, which contends that Israel's military actions in Gaza constitute genocide.
