Qatar Museums signs education partnership with Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre
text_fieldsDoha: Qatar Museums and the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre have signed a five-year strategic agreement to develop Museum-in-Residence education initiatives in India and Qatar, expanding museum-based learning programs for children and educators.
The agreement was signed by Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, and Isha Ambani of Reliance Industries. The signing ceremony was held at the National Museum of Qatar in Doha.
Partnership Focus
Under the partnership, Qatar Museums and NMACC will jointly develop Museum-in-Residence educational programmes designed to introduce interactive, museum-led learning experiences for children. The initiatives will also provide educators and volunteers with new teaching tools, materials and hands-on methods aimed at encouraging creativity and innovation in learning environments.
The programs will focus primarily on early childhood education while also supporting teachers and facilitators through training and mentoring. Both organisations said the collaboration reflects a shared emphasis on education, creativity and cross-cultural exchange.
Implementation in India
In India, NMACC will work with the Reliance Foundation to roll out the programmes across multiple regions. Qatar Museums specialists, including experts from the Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, will lead masterclasses and provide hands-on mentoring.
Each program will be adapted to suit different learning environments, with activities planned for schools, anganwadis and community centres, including in rural and underserved areas. The partners said the approach aligns with NMACC’s aim to bring international learning models to India while also sharing Indian cultural perspectives globally.
Sheikha Al Mayassa said the collaboration builds on shared values around creativity, cultural exchange and education. She said Qatar Museums will contribute its experience and educational expertise to support and expand NMACC’s existing programmes across classrooms in India.
Isha Ambani said the partnership reflects NMACC’s commitment to developing high-quality educational experiences for young people. She said both institutions see culture as a starting point for imagination and education as a means to unlock potential, adding that the collaboration aims to introduce new learning formats for children.
Ms Maha Al Hajri, Acting Director of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar, said the collaboration will extend Dadu’s Museum-in-Residence program to India through the Light Atelier initiative. The Light Atelier is designed for children aged three to seven and focuses on immersive learning through play.
She said the program allows Dadu to share its learning-through-play model beyond Qatar while supporting cultural exchange with international partners such as NMACC.
Qatar Museums and NMACC will also explore additional initiatives focused on creativity, empathy and discovery. The partnership supports Qatar Museums’ wider commitment to education and cultural exchange in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which prioritises human and cultural development.
For NMACC, the agreement forms part of its ongoing efforts to introduce global educational and cultural ideas to India through its Mumbai-based multidisciplinary centre.
