Salem Al-Shehab, Director General of the Police Aviation Department, said in a statement issued by the ministry that the scholarship represents a landmark step for Kuwait’s security and military institutions. He explained that Al-Shaleen will undertake intensive academic coursework alongside hands-on flight training in Greece as part of her preparation to serve as a pilot officer.
Al-Shehab noted that the move reflects the state’s commitment to advancing women’s roles within the security sector and expanding their participation across specialized fields, while keeping pace with modern developments in security operations.
He added that the initiative aligns with the Interior Ministry’s ongoing modernization efforts, led by Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, aimed at strengthening capabilities and developing national talent within the force.
