India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, presented her credentials to Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah during a formal ceremony at Bayan Palace on April 21.

She was received with a Guard of Honour ahead of the ceremony. Tripathi is the 20th Ambassador of India to Kuwait and the first woman to hold the post.

The Amir welcomed the envoy and wished her success, noting the long-standing ties between the two countries. He referred to shared history, cultural links and strong people-to-people relations. He also extended Kuwait’s interest in expanding cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

During the meeting, Tripathi conveyed greetings from India’s President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India. She described Kuwait as a trusted partner and an important voice in the Gulf and the GCC.

She also expressed India’s support for Kuwait in light of the regional situation and reiterated its position on peace and stability.

The ambassador thanked Kuwaiti authorities for their support to the Indian community, describing it as a key link between the two countries. She highlighted plans to expand cooperation in trade, investment, defence, energy, healthcare, science, technology and skills.
