Travel agencies in the UAE and abroad are gearing up to introduce enticing packages for tourists planning to explore the Gulf region, ahead of the anticipated launch of the unified GCC tourist visa, also known as the GCC 'Grand Tours' visa.

Industry insiders revealed that these packages offer travellers a unique experience encompassing stays, travel and sightseeing across three regional countries. Estimated to cost between Dh4,000-Dh5,000 and above, these packages aim to provide visitors with an unforgettable journey through the Gulf.

During a recent ministerial discussion at the Arabian Travel Market, officials hinted at the imminent implementation of the 'GCC Grand Tours' visa by the year's end. Like the Schengen visa in Europe, this multi-entry visa promises seamless access to all six Gulf countries.

Rehan Asad, Vice-President for Global Markets at Expedia, expressed optimism regarding the unified GCC tourist visa. Drawing parallels with the impact of the Schengen visa in Europe, Asad highlighted the potential of the new visa to stimulate intra-country travel and enhance tourism across the Gulf region.

To meet the diverse needs of travellers, Expedia has conducted extensive research to identify preferences and trends. Asad emphasized the importance of convenience, particularly for families with children aged 8-14. Expedia's upcoming packages will offer a comprehensive range of options, including accommodations, transportation and guided tours.

Anas Anane, Associate Executive at Traveazy, echoed the sentiment, highlighting the significance of the unified GCC tourist visa in advancing the travel and tourism sector. Traveazy's offerings will cater to different budget ranges, with packages starting from Dh1,500 per person for single-country tours. For comprehensive experiences spanning the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, packages are expected to range between Dh4,000-Dh5,000.
