UDF seeks action on CBI report that claims conspiracy to tarnish Oommen Chandy

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress-led Opposition in Kerala, led by the United Democratic Front (UDF), has intensified its demand for a thorough investigation into allegations of a conspiracy aimed at implicating the late former Chief Minister of Kerala, Oommen Chandy, in a sexual exploitation case linked to the infamous solar scam of 2013.

The demand follows recent reports suggesting that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered political involvement in orchestrating false accusations against Oommen Chandy.

The CBI report, submitted by its Thiruvananthapuram unit, ultimately cleared Chandy of any wrongdoing, a decision subsequently endorsed by the Thiruvananthapuram Chief Judicial Magistrate earlier this month.

Key Congress leaders are now calling for transparency in the matter, urging the public disclosure of the identities of those implicated and the complete CBI report.

Kerala Congress president K Sudhakaran stressed the necessity of a comprehensive investigation into the alleged conspiracy, emphasizing that the state government should provide clarity on the issue.

The name of KB Ganesh Kumar, an LDF MLA and leader of Kerala Congress, has reportedly surfaced in connection with the conspiracy, adding another layer of intrigue to the unfolding political drama.

The solar scam of 2013 had cast a shadow on the then Congress-led UDF government and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Allegations had arisen regarding the involvement of three members of Chandy's office staff with the primary accused, Saritha Nair, and her husband, Biju Radhakrishnan, who were accused of misleading investors by falsely claiming proximity to the Chief Minister's Office to attract investments in a solar company.
