PM Foundation Awards distributed

Kochi: Every student who is fortunate to enjoy the benefits offered by the society should also be prepared to reciprocate it by rendering similar service to society, said Haris Beeran MP. He was delivering the keynote address at the annual award giving ceremony held at Le Meridien Convention Centre, Kochi by PM Foundation, founded by Dr Galfar P Mohamed Ali.

Beeran also opined that the new generation should effectively use the opportunities that come up before them. It is imperative to have greater representation of backward communities in government service and the judiciary. More stress should be given to value-based education than merely acquiring AI tools, he said. He also emphasied that the generation which is capable of achieving novel goals should be given every support.

The programme was presided over by Foundation Chairman APM Mohammed Hanish. Galfar P Mohamed Ali delivered the programme message. Najeeb Kanthapura MLA attended as special guest.

The ceremony honoured 303 students who scored high marks in the talent search exam conducted by PM Foundation in co-operation with Madhyamam. Also honoured were winners of the Foundation's scholarship and those who qualified for PM Fellowship.

In the institutional excellence award category, Pottasseri Government Higher Secondary School, Palakkad won the award of Rs 3 lakhs and a plaque in the contest based on the theme 'Pedagogical Innovation for Holistic Education' . Iravipuram Government LP School won the second prize comprising Rs 2 lakhs in cash and a plaque.

The session also honoured students who cracked the Chartered Accountancy examination and candidates who secured top ranks in the civil service examinations.

Trustees of PM Foundation Mohamed Ali, CH Abdul Raheem, N.M. Sharfuddeen, Ashraf Kadakkal, MM Abdul Basheer and CEO of Madhyamam PM Salih also spoke on the occasion.
