Kerala journalists protest after governor expelled two channels from press meet
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Union of Working Journalists on Tuesday has taken out a protest march to the Raj Bhavan after Governor Governor Arif Mohammad Khan expelled journalists of two leading TV channals from reporting his briefing at a guest house on Monday.
Khan accused the journalists and their channels of siding with Pinarayi Vijayan administration before turning them out of the press meet.
Journalists marched from the museum to the governor's residence in protest against the Governor.
Governor reportedly called the journalists and the news outlets "cadre media" and last month he ordered them not be allowed at his press conference.
Meanwhile, LDF government led by CPIM accused him of acting at the behest of BJP.
Governor Khan vehemently reacted to the CPIM's announcement to organize massive protest in front of Raj Bhavan, Khan, asking them to " barge into my office" and " attack me on the road", as per a report in NDTV.
The CPIM on the other hand accuses the governor of delaying key legislations.
Earlier on October 26, the CPIM took out a protest march against the governor after he demanded resignation of university vice-chancellors calling their appointments as part of "a system of oligarchy".
