Kerala CM slams Sadiq Ali Thangal: 'behaving like a Jamaat-e-Islami follower'
text_fieldsPalakkad: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan sharply criticized Muslim League state president, Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal, for his recent actions, likening them to those of a follower of Jamaat-e-Islami. Speaking at an election campaign event in Palakkad, Vijayan pointed out that Thangal, who once commanded widespread respect, was now acting contrary to his previous reputation.
The CM also recalled a significant moment during an election campaign in Ottappalam, reflecting on the aftermath of the Babri Masjid demolition. He stated that the RSS-led Sangh Parivar was responsible for the demolition, but it was the Congress-led central government at the time that provided tacit support to their actions. Despite being part of the Congress-led cabinet, the Muslim League did not protest against Congress’s position, choosing instead to remain in the coalition.
The Chief Minister further remarked that Muslim League leaders and members of minority communities were fully aware of Sandeep Varier's past political positions. He criticized the media for overly glorifying Varier's move from the BJP to the Congress.
