Kerala-based entrepreneur honoured by UK parliament

Doha: JK Menon won an international award along with members of the British Parliament and made Malayalees and India proud. NORCA Director and ABN Corporation Chairman, Menon was honoured with an award in the UK House of Commons. UK House of Commons Deputy Speaker Sir Roger Gale presented Menon with the award. Outstanding individuals, who have overcome crises and made an impact on society during the Covid-19 pandemic, were honoured by the British Parliament.

Considering the excellent achievements in the field of international business and continued services in various countries, Menon was presented with the 'International Businessman of the Year award. Members of the British Parliament were also honoured in the UK House of Commons. The UK-based EPG organized the International Awards for public political services presentation ceremony.

Menon, the chairman of Qatar-based ABN Corporation, is the first person from Kerala to win this award. He has many businesses in Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi, UAE, Sudan, the UK and India. Menon was selected for the award by the selection committee, considering his leadership in the cultural and philanthropic activities of Indians overseas. Hussam Al-Rassam, an actor and singer from Iraq, was honoured with the International Talent Award at the ceremony.

Penny Mordaunt, President of the Council of the British Parliament and Sir Kier Starmer, the Leader of the Opposition in the UK Parliament, were honoured with the Parliament of the Year award at the ceremony. Louise Haigh won the award for best shadow minister in the UK Parliament.
