Thiruvananthapuram: Now Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan is all vocal against the BBC's controversial documentary "India: The Modi Quesition". He said that those who wanted to see "India into hundred of pieces" are upset, and that is why they spread such "propaganda", Asian News International.

He said that those who predicted darkness for India and said India would be divided were involved in the making of such documentaries and propaganda material. He suggested that they should make a documentary of the time when the British came to India, Khan said.

Inaugurating the 'Hindu conclave' organised by Malayalee Hindus settled in North America, he said that foreigners came to India eyeing its fabulous wealth. Though India became the icon of poverty in South Asia in 1947, it has changed now, he said.

He continued that multinational companies are now headed by individuals of Indian origin, and the world realises India's true potential. The world is aware that if India is powerful, nobody can threaten it. But India never used the power to dominate over others but believed in the potential divinity of man and woman, Khan said.

He said that the mindset of people who predict that India will break away and fight each other within is disappointing. But they are disappointed since India is doing well. India proved that those predictions were wrong.

The Governor said that he pities those who gave more credence to the documentary than the Indian judiciary.

Then he further said that India is not only strengthening its freedom but also its democracy and its system. "Today a person of Indian origin is the Prime Minister of the most powerful nation in the world not through brute force, but through votes," ANI quoted him.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the UK's national broadcaster, aired a two-part series on Narendra Modi's active participants in the 2002 Gujarat riots, where hundreds were killed, and the majority were Muslims.

BJP-led Indian government denounced the documentary claiming that it is a propaganda piece.
