Kochi: Kerala government on Thursday informed the High Court that government employees wouldn’t be coerced to join the Women’s wall.

In an affidavit submitted to the court the government made clear women’s wall as not a political programme; no punitive actions would be taken against those who choose not to participate.

Also, the flood relief fund or funds earmarked for other purposes would not be used for the women’s wall.

The court directed the government against including children in the women’s wall and also asked to avoid those aged below 18 years.
