Thiruvananthapuram: CPI-M state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan Friday said the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) should be used only to curb the terrorist activities.

“The LDF government has a declared policy on the issues related to the police. This is not similar to that of the Modi government and the previous UDF government,” Kodiyeri said in an article published in party mouthpiece Deshabhimani.

“Whenever the policy is violated, the LDF government has intervened and took action against the officials concerned. Those who acted against this policy have been given strong warning,” he said.
