Uddhav thinks of us as house helps: Shinde justifies rebellion
text_fieldsNagpur: Uddhav Thackeray abandoned the ideology of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, and that is why he rebelled, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Sunday.
Shinde claimed that he never wanted to become the chief minister but was forced to rebel after witnessing Bal Thackeray's ideology being compromised, PTI reported.
It was in June 2022 that Eknath Shinde broke away from the Uddhav Thackeray-led party and formed a government in Maharashtra with the BJP's support.
Addressing a meeting of his party worker in Ramtek in Nagpur, Shinde hit out at Uddhav, "Balasaheb Thackeray used to consider us (party functionaries) as friends, but he thinks of us as house-helps."
He said that only when leaders reach out to the grassroots workers instead of sitting at home does a party grow.
He urged people to vote for the ruling alliance in the Lok Sabha polls to make Narendra Modi prime minister for the third time. He claimed that the opposition in Maharashtra, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), does not have any intention of bringing development.
Later on the day, he told reporters at the airport, "The seat-sharing details between parties in the ruling alliance will be completed in two to three days. The Mahayuti will win all seats in Vidarbha."
On Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray's comment that CM Shinde gave away four to five seats to allies to ensure his son gets renominated from Kalyan, Shinde responded that those making up such criticism must look at the conflict in the MVA.
