Kolkata: The results of the West Bengal Lok Sabha elections, which saw a bitter campaign spanning many months, will be made public shortly. The Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee, is leading with 31 seats, while the BJP is lagging behind, according to trends reported by the Election Commission. The party is aiming to maintain its domination.

According to EC statistics, TMC is leading with 31 seats out of 42, followed by BJP with 10 and Congress with 1. Congress' Adhir Chowdhury is trailing by about 3,000 votes, and Yusuf Pathan, the former cricket player, has taken the lead.

Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of Mamata Banerjee and national general secretary of the TMC, is leading from Diamond Harbour by a margin of more than 3.14 lakh.

In the same way, Mahua Moitra of the TMC, who had been trailing in Krishnanagar, has suddenly pulled ahead of Amrita Roy of the BJP by more than 65,000 votes. Shatrughan Sinha, the Asansol Lok Sabha contender, is also ahead by a margin of more than 36,000 votes.
